What do Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Tennessee have in common? Seven of the “Top 10 Cities for Black-Owned Small Businesses” are located in these states – according to The Root –and they’re all governed by Republicans.

The other two states that make the list – Missouri and Virginia – have state governments represented by a Democrat governor and a GOP-controlled legislature. Three of the states have present or former governors running for the Republican presidential nomination.

While the Obama Administration’s Small Business Association (SBA) loans to black businesses sits an embarrassing 1.7%,  Republicans continue to lead the way in encouraging business-friendly environments, promoting job growth, and increasing economic opportunity for all.
